nerd power
In his tight, short-sleeved shirt, the wrestling coach guffawed when my little prepster entered the schoolwide arm wrestling contest. But he wasn't laughing when Stef pulled him over the table.
"I thought you were just a nerd."
Stefan didn't mention a word to me, but the little boys heard through the grapevine he beat the captain of the football team the next day. All day long the other members of the team offered congratulations--"It's about time someone took his ego down a notch."
For the final, Stef donned his usual polo shirt/sweater and took the championship. "I almost felt bad," he said, "no one expects the nerd to win."
I do. Every time.

I love this! Thanks for posting. I love your blog, in general, and this is classic. :)
But of course!
go stefan!
Love it!
I love nerds! I married one and am trying my hardest to raise five of them. I'm not kidding. I think they are the best kind of people. And apparently they also win arm wrestles. Rock. On.
Love it. Love love love it.
I can't think of a single contest where my money wouldn't be on Stefan.
What a wonderful post! How did he get to be so well rounded?
Long live the Prepster! Plain awesome - that's what that story is. Just plain awesome.
Love it. That is awesome. Everybody knows it's the nerds you want to marry in the end anyway... :-)
Everyone at our house is a huge fan of that Stefan...pull-ups, ACT scores, and nerd power!
Great story! Go Stefan!
Your boys put the cool in nerd! I love them and I love Stefan's spirit, humble, yet honest and genuine.
